Nurturing Children & Creativity Featuring Adi Oasis, Surya Botofasina, Martha Redbone, Kim Kalesti and Sarah Elizabeth Charles This Is A Movement joins NYC Winter Jazzfest to present a conversation on how parenting impacts artistic practice and process for professional musicians. We have invited musicians whose lives and work range broadly and offer a dynamic exploration of lived experience that is ever-present but often overlooked. Our guests will share their personal experiences with family planning, pregnancy, birthing, parenting and how it has influenced their outlook and work. All are encouraged to listen and ask questions at the end of this dialogue, to provide guidance, and to imagine collective solutions and support systems for our Jazz, Black American, and Improvised Music communities.
